THE REAL TALENTED ONES

And that YUNA seems to be really talented singer-performer-musician.
She carries all the baggage (in fact all in a package) that are not found in Datuk Siti Nurhaliza or Datuk Sharifah Aini. What more if to compare with other 'artificial' and 'half-past six' type of our local singers which seems to be outnumbered in the market, but alas! sad to say ..... of no quality at all ........(with the exception of Anita Sarawak of course - which have been proven ... as she is an all-time performer-cum-celebrity-singer who has made her name in the U.S. - Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas for several teen-years). Not just base on one concert or two (outside Malaysia) which are being sponsored .... like some of those who just doesn't prove anything.

While this YUNA is a self-made artist who rose to the music arena without going thru the usual process of our local artistes thru various types of TV reality programs. And she is truly an 'indie' type of category of artist - the so-called 'independent' - who doesn't depend on the mainstream media to rise to stardom. Yet she made it - and has been proven to the recent award presentation ceremony of AIM-17 (The 17th Anugerah Industry Music Award) where she managed to grab 4 categories of awards in the award-winning presentation last Sunday, May 2, 2010). She's the sole winner that seems to beat them all. What is impressive is that she made it all by herself ...... through her own effort - without having to rely on the mainstream media - be that the electronic media - the TV - neither the printed media.

She really did prove it. She really showed that she can do without those gimmick or propaganda or publisity from the press nor the electronic media. She never seems (or like) to be pampered (dimanja2kan oleh media) like some others .... I think you know who (very obvious though).
She made it out of her own merit.
As Malaysian, we should be proud of her.

People like her who indulge herself with due commitments towards music industry..... can really be proud of herself and can always brag (if she wants to) that whatever songs she sang is her music. Its her own music. She can always say that .... "that's my music ..... it's my music..... it's my kind of music".
This is because .... the song, the music, the lyrics all are created by her ownself ...... and with additional extra credit by being able to play the musical instrument (viz the guitar) performing 'live' some more. What else that she cannot claim? .... she can claim all ..... all belong to her. That's her music .... without doubt.

So, to those fans of certain idols (while they refer to as Diva) who just merely sing the songs (i.e. other people's songs) ..... the songs are the composers' songs ..... just bear in mind that those singers are just mere 'postmen' who only deliver .... other people's product..... in this case the product they deliver is the song. So they can't claim that whatever songs they sing is their songs (whether reach the top of the chart or become popular or not) BECAUSE ...... IN ACTUAL FACT the songs are not their songs at all. Never.... man .... never!

They are only just singing the composers' songs ....... that's why they're called singer or singers. And their duties are to carry or deliver the song or songs according to what is being composed (melody) by the composer as well as the song writer. According to the recipe as laid down in the melody and lyrics. By going out of the way .... overboard .... or beyond that ..... will disrupt the song. And thus would spoil the whole song ..... that won't make the song composer feel nice ..... when they (the singer or singers) seems to spoil his own creation (the song) instead.

In their case .... the song and the singer are far apart .... so near yet so far ..... because the song belongs to the owner i.e. the composer. And the composer can always allow his song or songs be sung by other singers as he feel like.

While in the case of Yuna, she owns all the package. She thus can brag and claim that the song is hers .... the music is her kind of music ..... since she's the one who create the music ..... besides performing and delivering it at the same time. Anyone of those so-called DIVA .... the so-called No:1 ..... the so-called 'big-name' or 'nama besar' for just being a mere singer (of other ppl's songs) can be like Yuna? And Yuna never ask for sponsorship ..... Yuna never beg for such. She struggles on her own. And she made it.

A note to all the so-called Divas of the day ...... Better learn to compose and write your own songs and be able to play some kind of musical instruments ..... then you can brag that the song or songs together with its accompanying music all yours. Nobody can contradict that for sure.

Please bear that in your thick head .... and don't be just a 'SYIOK SENDIRI' type of local artis (of the half-past six type).
